Culture on all screens: ARTE Mediathek

Since 2013 we have been continuously developing the apps of the French-German TV channel ARTE. What started with the iOS app overtime increased to a variety of platforms, so that at this point we are responsible for ARTE on iOS, visionOS, iPadOS, Android Mobile, Android tablets, Android TV, Fire TV and, our latest development, Amazon Vega OS.

The apps feature a user friendly structure, an modern media library, a full featured search that allows users to get inspiration as well as find specific videos and magazines.

The mobile apps allow the user to download videos and store them offline for up to 72 hours.

The modern platform native navigation menu gives users fast access to different videos by categories and ARTE's recommendations.

With Shorts ARTE ventures into a short video format for quick updates.

On the My Videos page users can find their favorited videos, started videos for continued watching, downloaded videos and video recommendations. The My ARTE account allows users to sync their videos across mobile, TV and the website.

We are continuously adapting the ARTE apps to new OS versions integrating state of the art platform features such as TV app integration, Siri support and Chromecast.

ARTE has always been available in German and French. So users can choose between a German and a French full version of the app.

In addition the app offers a growing selection of ARTE content in English, Italian, Polish, Romanian or Spanish with an adapted content offer and layout.

As a public broadcaster ARTE's mission is to reach as many users as possible. This includes smartphones as well as new devices such as the Apple Vision Pro or Amazon Fire TV with Vega OS.

We support the app development and deployment on all major mobile and TV platforms such as Apple iOS, visionOS and iPadOS, Google Android, Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire OS tablets and TVs, Vega OS TVs as well as smaller mobile phone platforms such as Samsung Galaxy Store.

On top of this we customize the app for compatibility with ARTE OTT partners such as Bouygues.
